Femoral Hernia

This is also a type of groin hernia that occurs a little lower than an inguinal hernia, where the femoral artery an vein exit the abdomen and enter the leg. Although much less common than inguinal hernias overall, they tend to be more common in females and are more prone to strangulation. It is generally recommended to have femoral hernias repaired when they are diagnosed for this reason.
